Summary

F.O.S.S. constructed a 12-panel kiosk at Stewart Road East, with panels on erosion, noxious weeds, and Friends of the South Slopes, as well as BC Parks' panels on the park map and protected areas. The project was funded by a TD Friends of the Environment Foundation grant and donations from local suppliers and individuals. The kiosk is part of the Trailhead project, which will also include a grand opening event in spring 2004, delayed due to the ongoing fire hazard in the park. F.O.S.S. is also working on issues concerning Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park and other crown lands on the South Slopes, including logging and trail preservation. The organization is seeking a new director to represent the Mission area and is encouraging responsible, low-impact recreation on the South Slopes.
