Physical Therapy (PT) professionals often receive questions from stroke patients about their functional prognosis, such as "Will I be able to walk alone if I undergo rehabilitation?" or "Will this hand move again?" However, there is a lack of research on this topic. The purpose of this study is to investigate how often PTs experience such questions, whether the frequency of these questions changes depending on the patient's stage of recovery (acute, recovery, or maintenance phase), and what difficulties PTs face when responding to these questions. A survey was conducted among PTs in Niigata Prefecture, with 375 valid responses. The results show that the frequency of such questions changes depending on the patient's stage of recovery. The stages of recovery are defined as: acute phase (within 1 month of onset), recovery phase (1-12 months after onset), and maintenance phase (12 months or more after onset).
