Das Eidgenössische Departement für Wirtschaft, Bildung und Forschung (WBF) und das Staatssekretariat für Bildung, Forschung und Innovation (SBFI) erkennen im Rahmen der Qualifikationsverfahren für die Berufsmaturität und die kaufmännische Grundbildung anerkannte Fremdsprachendiplome an, die den Qualitätskriterien der Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) entsprechen. Die anerkannten Fremdsprachendiplome umfassen unter anderem Deutsch (Goethe-Institut, telc GmbH, TestDaF Institut, AFU GmbH, ÖSD Zertifikat), Französisch (Diplôme d’études en langue française, Diplôme de Français Professionnel Affaires), Italienisch (Certificato di conoscenza della lingua italiana) und Englisch (Cambridge English, IELTS, Integrated Skills in English). Die Liste der anerkannten Fremdsprachendiplome gilt ab dem 1. August 2022.
