Summary

The desirable characteristics of external auditors on basic education perceived by administrators and teachers in Phitsanulok Educational Service Area Office 1 were studied. 180 subjects were classified by stratified random sampling and different categories of schools. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. Results showed that administrators and teachers thought the characteristics of external auditors in terms of virtues, personality, knowledge of auditing, and ability to communicate were good. No difference was seen between administrators and teachers with regards to desirable characteristics.
