an investigation of criteria which may enhance Podiatry Education" by Christopher Stuart Davies aims to identify a complementary set of statements to supplement the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) benchmark statement in podiatry education. The QAA benchmark statement provides a list of threshold competences expected of students prior to achieving independent practitioner status, but evidence suggests that achieving competences alone is not enough to base quality judgments. The study employed an action research methodology, collecting data from pathway leaders of schools of podiatry in the UK, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. A list of 32 criteria was distilled from the data collection, which was then subjected to Likert scale attitude measures, resulting in a final list of 28 criteria that influence the education of podiatrists. The study hopes to contribute to the development of a more inclusive set of criteria to complete the quality circle of standards in podiatry education.
