Summary

This study analyzes the preferences and behavior of rural communities towards Islamic banking, using a descriptive statistical analysis research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results show that religious and economic preferences are the most important factors influencing the behavior of rural people towards Islamic banking. The study suggests that Islamic banks need to accommodate the needs of rural communities, which cannot be met by conventional banks, especially in terms of avoiding usury and following Islamic principles. The research was conducted in three villages in Brebes Regency, Central Java, where the community has limited knowledge of Islamic banking and tends to use conventional financial institutions. The study aims to identify the potential for Islamic banking development in rural areas and to determine the strategies for its growth.
