Key Findings:

Prevalence: 82% of public schools with grades 9-12 offered dual or concurrent enrollment (Figure 1).
 Funding Sources: Most funding came from the school, district, or state (78%), followed by families/students (42%). 10% received funding from other sources.
Community Type & Rural Areas:
 Rural schools had a higher dual enrollment rate (90%) compared to urban and suburban areas (73-83%).
Rural schools were less likely to be funded by the school, district, or state (72%) and more likely to rely on family/student funding (50%) than urban schools.
 Free/Reduced Lunch & Dual Enrollment: Schools with 75% or more students approved for free/reduced lunch offered dual enrollment less frequently (71%) compared to schools with lower eligibility rates (84-93%).
* These same schools were more likely to be funded by the school, district, or state (86%) and less likely to rely on family/student funding (28%) than schools with lower eligibility rates.

Conclusion: Community type influences dual enrollment availability and funding sources, while the percentage of students eligible for free/reduced lunch also plays a role, with higher eligibility correlating with different funding sources.
