Nairobi City County Assembly met on May 31, 2022, with Hon. Speaker Benson Mutura in the Chair. The House confirmed quorum and welcomed visitor Ms. Meyer Osterder, a student from ABSA University in Sweden. Hon. Mbugua Kabiro laid the Nairobi City County Executive and County Assembly Service Board budget estimates for 2022/2023 on the Table. The Speaker committed the report to the Budget committee. Hon. Kabiro also moved a Motion to appoint persons to the Nairobi City County Sister Cities Committee, aiming to formalize and strengthen relationships with international cities, promote peace and prosperity, and enable exchanges in arts, culture, business, and education. The proposed committee members include representatives from the County Government, National Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce, and the public. The Motion seeks to ensure that any agreements are deposited with the Clerk and County Secretary, preventing outsiders from masquerading as employees and enabling meaningful exchanges between Nairobi and twinned cities.
