Summary

Additionally, the Commission has established an emergency veterinary team to respond to animal disease outbreaks and is considering collective redress mechanisms for consumers. A new Consumer Strategy 2007-2013 aims to boost confidence in the Single Market, with five pillars: modern cross-border shopping rights, strong systems for redress and enforcement, safe markets, making consumer outcomes the focus of EU policies, and information.
