Summary

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity invites nominations for members of the Compliance Committees under the Cartagena and Nagoya Protocols, as terms of current members are set to end on December 31, 2022. Regional groups are asked to consult and prepare nominations for suitable candidates to serve on the Committees for four-year terms. Indigenous peoples and local communities are also invited to nominate two observers for the Nagoya Protocol Compliance Committee. Nominees should have recognized competence in relevant fields, such as biosafety, genetic resources, or traditional knowledge. The Secretariat requests that nominations and curriculum vitae be submitted by email as soon as possible after the opening of the meetings in Montreal.
