Summary

Applicants for the INFR5 Phase One Awards are not required to address all bullet points in the RFA, but must be responsive to all three categories of allowable activities. Proposed activities are not limited to those completed within the 2-year award period, but rather demonstrate progress toward overall objectives. Collaborations are encouraged but not required. Eligible applicants must have a fully operational California cell and gene therapy GMP manufacturing facility. The program director does not need to be a faculty member, and only one program director is allowed. There are no limits to subcontract amounts, and salary support can count toward the 20% co-funding requirement. Travel costs for conferences are allowable if relevant to the project. CIRM's current Intellectual Property regulations apply, but there are no specific IP sharing requirements.
