Summary

The State of Alaska is requesting $4,080,000 for the Health Information Exchange Providers Incentive Program to enable Medicaid providers to link to the Health Information Exchange (HIE), allowing them to track services provided by non-tribal providers to Alaska Natives, as required by the new Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Tribal claiming policy. The program will provide incentive payments to Medicaid providers to support their connection to the HIE, with 90% of the funding coming from federal administrative matching funds and 10% from state general funds. The project aims to support the Medicaid Reform bill and CMS State Medicaid Director's letters, and will cover costs such as project management, interface development, and training for 100 projected provider organizations.
