Summary

EDCTP has a policy on clinical trials registration, publication, and data sharing, which requires grant holders to register clinical trials and interventional studies in a primary registry, such as the WHO International Registry Network or ICMJE approved registry, before recruitment of the first subject. The policy also mandates the publication of summary results and open access publications, and recommends the registration of observational studies. EDCTP expects grant holders to comply with the joint statement on public disclosure of results from clinical trials, and to ensure timely disclosure of results to reduce waste in research and increase value and efficiency in the use of funds. The policy applies to clinical trials and clinical intervention studies, public health intervention studies, and observational studies, but excludes studies on human tissues and cells that have already been collected.
