Summary

De VNG streeft naar een gezonde leefomgeving waarin gezondheid centraal staat. Een gezonde leefomgeving is een omgeving die als prettig wordt ervaren, die uitnodigt tot gezond gedrag en waar de druk op de gezondheid zo laag mogelijk is. Dit houdt in dat de leefomgeving schoon, heel en veilig is, met voldoende licht en ventilatie, en dat er ruimte is voor sport en spel. Ook moet de leefomgeving bescherming bieden tegen schadelijke effecten van industrie, verkeer en infectieziekten. Een gezonde leefomgeving heeft een hoog aandeel kwalitatief hoogwaardig groen, zoals parken en plantsoenen, en voldoende ontmoetingsplekken. De VNG wil dat gezondheid meegewogen wordt bij keuzes in de fysieke leefomgeving en streeft naar een integrale aanpak van de gezonde leefomgeving, waarin alle beleidsthema's samenkomen.
