Summary

The Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions received reports from civil society organizations on the implementation of the Convention in different parts of the world. The reports highlight the diversity of challenges and opportunities faced by civil society organizations and point to inequalities in support, infrastructure, and capacities. The Committee is to examine the information provided and consider recommendations, including supporting the effective and sustainable contribution of civil society, developing capacity-building tools, and providing training and access to technology and infrastructure. The Committee may adopt a decision to encourage Parties to support civil society participation and request the Secretariat to support civil society participation in the work of the Convention's governing bodies.
