1. Registered voters have the right to vote. Eligible voters include those who are:
US citizens
18 years or older
Registered to vote in their current residence
Not imprisoned or on parole for a felony conviction
Not deemed mentally incompetent by a court
2. Even if your name is not on the voter list, you can still vote if you are a registered voter. You will use a provisional ballot, which will be counted if the elections official determines you are eligible.
3. If you are in line at the polling station when it closes, you still have the right to vote.
4. You have the right to vote in secret, without interference or instruction from anyone.
5. If you spoil your ballot, you can get a new one if you have not already cast your vote. You can request a new ballot from the poll worker or exchange it at the elections office or your polling station.
6. You can get help voting from anyone you choose, except your employer or union representative.
7. You can submit your completed mail-in ballot at any polling station in California.
8. If there are enough voters in your precinct who speak a language other than English, you have the right to get election materials in that language.
9. You can ask the poll worker questions about the voting process and observe the election. If they cannot answer your question, they will find someone who can. However, if you disrupt the process, your questioning may be stopped.
10. You have the right to report any illegal or fraudulent election activity to the poll worker or the Secretary of State.

Additional notes:
Polling stations are open from 7am to 8pm on election day.
For specific instructions on voting methods, including provisional voting, ask the poll worker or read the information sent by your local elections official.
New voters may be required to show identification or other documents under federal law. However, you still have the right to cast a provisional ballot even if you do not show these documents.
It is illegal to claim to be a voter if you do not meet the requirements under federal and state law.
It is illegal to tamper with voting machines.
