Summary

Narcotics have been present in the world for thousands of years, with people using psychoactive drugs to change their psyche, initially as part of religious cults and social meetings, and later as medicinal substances. The phenomenon of narcosis among children and teenagers is a serious aspect of social aberration and a difficult educational problem worldwide. Drug abuse among teenagers is becoming more serious and increasing, putting health and life in danger. A study among 80 secondary school students found that only 25% believed drug abuse to be a socially pathological phenomenon, 65% claimed an increase in drug abuse, and 45% admitted to trying drugs, with 50% saying drugs are easily available at school. The results highlight the need for a wide prevention campaign at schools, promoting healthy life, delaying initiation, and limiting drug availability, with teachers, parents, psychologists, and educationalists playing a crucial role.
