Summary

A national survey found that 46% of caregivers performed medical/nursing tasks, with 48% of those caregivers providing care for someone with a cognitive or behavioral health condition. Caregivers of people with challenging behaviors were more likely to be adult children, had provided care for longer periods, and cared for recipients who were generally sicker and had more chronic physical health diagnoses.
