Summary

KRAS, NRAS, and BRAF mutations were analyzed in 33 patients with metastatic or high-risk colorectal cancer in Western Iran. The mean age was 57.67 years, with 57.6% being male. Tumor locations were primarily in the rectum (39.4%) and sigmoid (33.3%). KRAS mutations were found in 27.3% of patients, while 63.6% had wild-type KRAS. The mean overall survival was 20 months. NRAS and BRAF testing should be used together with KRAS genotype to select patients for anti-EGFR therapy. The location of tumors was more frequently on the left-side colon, which may require further study.
