Summary

A study was conducted among working mothers in a rural health clinic in Selangor, Malaysia, to determine the prevalence of breastfeeding and factors associated with it. The study found a high prevalence of breastfeeding at 97.6% among working mothers. Significant associations were found between breastfeeding practice and workplace breastfeeding support (p=0.005) and self-efficacy (p=0.017). A significant correlation was also noted between breastfeeding workplace support and breastfeeding self-efficacy (r=0.40, p<0.01). The study highlights the importance of workplace support and self-efficacy in promoting breastfeeding among working mothers.
