Summary

A randomized cross-sectional study of 126 patients with gastrointestinal tract cancer undergoing radiotherapy found a high prevalence of mood disturbance, with a mean total mood disturbance score of 77.39±15.03. Significant relationships were found between tension-anxiety, depression-dejection, anger-hostility, fatigue-inertia, and confusion-bewilderment. The study suggests that strategies to improve mood are important for these patients to achieve better therapeutic outcomes.
