Summary

Retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RPLS) is a rare tumor that arises in the retroperitoneum, with a high recurrence rate. A 49-year-old male patient presented with abdominal fullness and was diagnosed with RPLS measuring 20×18×19 cm. Complete surgical resection of the tumor with spleen, left kidney, and left adrenal gland was performed. However, recurrence developed, and complete resection of the recurrent tumor was also performed. The patient had no recurrence after 1-year follow-up. RPLS is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in the retroperitoneum, and complete surgical resection is the definitive treatment, but high recurrence rates complicate treatment.
