## TRAVATAN Z® (travoprost ophthalmic solution) Prescribing Highlights:

Indication: Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Dosage & Administration:
One drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
Not to be administered more than once daily.
Effectiveness begins approximately 2 hours after first administration, reaching maximum effect after 12 hours.

Formulation: Ophthalmic solution containing travoprost 0.04 mg/mL.

Contraindications: None specified.

Warnings & Precautions:

Pigmentation: Increased iris pigmentation (permanent), periorbital tissue, and eyelash pigmentation (usually reversible) are possible side effects. Patients should be informed of this possibility.
Eyelash Changes: Gradual changes to eyelashes including increased length, thickness, and number (usually reversible upon discontinuation).
Intraocular Inflammation: Use with caution in patients with active intraocular inflammation.
Macular Edema: TRAVATAN Z should be used cautiously in patients at risk for macular edema.
Angle-Closure Glaucoma: Not evaluated for this indication.
Bacterial Keratitis: Reports of bacterial keratitis associated with contaminated multiple-dose containers; remove contact lenses before instillation.

Adverse Reactions (most common):
Ocular hyperemia (30% to 50%)
Decreased visual acuity, eye discomfort, foreign body sensation, pain, pruritus
Ocular inflammation, corneal staining, dry eye, subconjunctival hemorrhage

Specific Populations:

Not recommended for pediatric patients below 16 years due to potential safety concerns.
Use in geriatric patients, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and patients with hepatic or renal impairment requires careful consideration.
