Everyone, hello. From now on, based on Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Rotary Club's bylaws, we will hold the annual general meeting.
According to the bylaws, "the election of officers and directors for the next fiscal year must be held at this annual general meeting."
We would like to ask for your approval of the candidates for next year's officers and directors.
If you agree with the proposal, please show your approval by applause.
Thank you very much. There are no objections, and the proposal is approved as is.
With this, the annual general meeting is closed.
We would like to express our gratitude to the officers and directors of the next fiscal year and request your applause once again.
Last week, the New Word and Buzzword Awards were announced, and "Kamitteru" was selected as the grand prize winner.
This is a word used by Hiroshima manager Ogata to praise the performance of player Suzuki, who hit two consecutive sayonara home runs.
Another news is that the "Mountain, Float, and Festival" event, which Japan proposed as an intangible cultural heritage, has been registered.
This event features decorated floats and festivals to entertain and comfort the gods, and 33 events have been proposed and registered as one item.
The "Owari Tsushima Tenno Festival" and "Suse Festival" have been registered as intangible cultural heritage.
We are delighted to see the registration of familiar events and hope for the preservation and development of these wonderful traditions.
The "Intangible Cultural Heritage" is a project by UNESCO to protect intangible cultural assets such as performing arts, social customs, and traditional crafts.
The registration is determined by a government committee composed of 24 countries, based on the recommendations of experts and NGOs.
So far, 336 items have been registered worldwide, and 21 items have been registered in Japan, including "Washi" (Japanese paper), "Noh" theater, "Kabuki" theater, and "Washoku" (Japanese cuisine).

Please come and visit.
The main topic of today's meeting is "Halitosis."
Halitosis is a common problem that affects many people.
The causes of halitosis are not only in the mouth but also in other parts of the body.
Today, we will discuss the principles of halitosis, its causes, and measures to prevent it.
Why does halitosis occur?
In the mouth, volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) are produced, which are the main cause of halitosis.
There are two types of halitosis: physiological and pathological.
Physiological halitosis occurs in healthy people and is caused by food particles and dead bacteria on the tongue.
Pathological halitosis is caused by diseases such as periodontal disease and tooth decay.
The same halitosis can have different odors depending on the cause.
The odor of halitosis is determined by the combination of three gases: hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and dimethyl sulfide.
For example, physiological halitosis has a characteristic odor of rotten eggs, while periodontal disease has a characteristic odor of rotten onions.
There are 10 causes of halitosis:
1. Lack of saliva
2. Periodontal disease
3. Tooth decay
4. Excess tongue coating
5. Gastrointestinal problems
6. Coffee
7. Alcohol
8. Tobacco
9. Sweet foods
10. Garlic and other strong-smelling foods
To confirm whether you have halitosis, you can:
1. Wear a mask
2. Use a cup to check the odor
3. Consult a specialist
To improve halitosis, you can:
1. Drink water to clean your mouth
2. Be careful about food combinations
3. Avoid fatigue and stress
4. Take care of your internal organs
5. Receive dental treatment
6. Keep your tongue clean
7. Eat foods that prevent halitosis
