Summary

Jesus und Jahwe werden in der Bibel mit ähnlichen Titeln und Eigenschaften beschrieben, wie z.B. Allmächtiger, Ich bin, Fels, Horn des Heils, Hirte, König der Herrlichkeit, Licht und Errettung. Beide werden als allmächtig, ewig und als Retter dargestellt. Jesus sagt über sich selbst: "Ehe Abraham ward, bin ich" (Johannes 8,58), was auf eine göttliche Existenz hinweist. Ähnliche Aussagen finden sich auch über Jahwe, wie z.B. "Ich bin der Herr, euer Väter Gott" (2.Mose 3,15). Die Bibel beschreibt Jesus auch als den "großen Hirten" (Hebräer 13,20) und als das "Licht der Welt" (Johannes 8,12), was ähnliche Eigenschaften wie Jahwe aufweist. Es wird auch betont, dass es "in keinem andern Heil" gibt und "kein andrer Name unter dem Himmel" ist, der Menschen retten kann, als der Name Jesu Christi (Apostelgeschichte 4,12).
