The tribe of Judah is not a lost tribe, but rather the tribe from which the Jews have a verifiable history dating back to the time of Jesus. The core of the House of Judah has passed on characteristics and genes to the periphery, making it possible to find prophetic clues among Jews. The first clue is the praising of God, which is a characteristic of the tribe of Judah. King David, a member of the tribe of Judah, wrote many psalms, including Psalm 23, which is one of the most popular psalms. The book of Psalms is one of the most frequently translated parts of the Old Testament, distributing the praises of the Jews to their God all over the world. King Solomon, also of the tribe of Judah, wrote 1005 psalms, two of which are in the Bible. In modern-day Jewry, praising God is still expressed in countless prayers and blessings, which have been written down in books of prayer. The NT also praises God by glorifying Jesus, and the majority of the Bible was written by Jews.

The second clue is the connection between Judah and money. Judah's idea to sell Joseph is mentioned in the Bible, as well as Judas' (Greek for Judah) selling of Jesus. Achan of the tribe of Judah took God's silver and gold at Jericho's fall. The Bible also mentions positive use of gold and silver by children of Judah, by David and Solomon. Solomon, of the House of Judah, was probably the richest Jew ever. The nation was prosperous under Solomon, but money led to the secession of the Ten Northern Tribes. The policies of the medieval Church and Christian society pushed the Jews into usury and banking, and the Jews have been ahead of their time in looking after the social needs of their own poor and needy.

The third clue is the connection between Judah and the messiah. The kings of the earth set themselves against the LORD and his ANOINTED (messiah), and the Bible mentions a coming messiah, a coming liberator. Priests and kings were anointed in Judah and Israel, and the Hebrew word for messiah is mashiach. A teaching developed in Judaism about a coming messiah, and the concept of a messiah is still present in modern-day Jewry. The idea of a messiah is also present in the NT, where Jesus is referred to as the messiah.
