Criteria:
1. Completed application form.
2. Letters of support from:
- One administrator within the applicant's building.
- Student council advisor.
- A teacher.
- Student council president endorsing the council.
3. Detailed description (approximately 500 words) of student council activities from the 2022 MAHS/MASC State Leadership Convention to the application submission date, including social events, service projects, community service, and school spirit initiatives.
4. Registration for the 2023 MAHS/MASC State Leadership Convention.
5. Active membership in good standing with both MASC and MASCA for the student council and advisor.
6. Application submission by March 31, 2023.

The MASCA Student Council of the Year Nomination recognizes outstanding school and community achievements by individual student councils, without requiring participation in external activities; awards presented at the MAHS/MASC State Leadership Convention banquet in April.
