Summary

Gesù ha un obiettivo chiaro, coloro che lo seguono devono essere superiori nella santità a scribi e farisei. Non è venuto ad abolire la legge, ma a portarla a compimento, a darle quel «di più» che la fa superare come legge e la trasforma in scelta interiore. Il «di più» è nel cuore, è lì che bisogna portare l'attenzione e la scelta, è la superiore esigenza della legge. Gesù fa alcuni esempi, come non uccidere con uno sguardo, con un giudizio duro, con un atteggiamento sprezzante, e come l'amore non è desiderio e ricerca egoistica della propria soddisfazione, ma volere il bene dell'amato. È certo esigente l'insegnamento di Gesù, ma un cristiano che si affida al Vangelo non può puntare al minimo.
