Summary

Carbon steel is widely used in various industries due to its extensive applications, but it is prone to corrosion. Corrosion inhibitors are used to prevent this, and hydrochloric acid is often used to dissolve calcium carbonate scale in pipelines. Researchers studied the inhibition of carbon steel corrosion in hydrochloric acid solution using CdS nanoparticles and CdS/PMMA hybrid. The results showed that CdS acted as a good inhibitor, and its inhibitory action increased with increasing concentration and temperature. The CdS/PMMA hybrid also showed enhanced inhibition efficiency, and the inhibition effect was confirmed by EDX and RD techniques. The study aimed to investigate the corrosion protective capability of the inorganic-organic hybrid material and the effect of CdS nanoparticles on the corrosion efficiency of the polymer.
