Summary

N = (1, 1) SYM theory in 6D is analyzed using harmonic superspace formalism, which provides an off-shell formulation of N = (1, 0) SYM theory and an on-shell formulation of N = (1, 1) SYM theory. The theory is expected to possess unique properties, such as dual conformal symmetry, and is related to string theory and supergravity. Recent perturbative calculations show unexpected cancelations of UV divergencies, and the theory is UV finite up to 2 loops. A new approach to constructing higher-dimension N = (1, 1) invariants is developed using the concept of on-shell N = (1, 1) harmonic superspace. The d = 8 and d = 10 invariants are built in a simple way, and an essential difference between single- and double-trace d = 10 invariants is found.
