Summary

The best synthesis temperature was found to be 150°C, with lower temperatures (110°C and 130°C) resulting in lower quality and quantity hydroxyapatite, and higher temperatures (170°C) leading to a decrease in crystal quality. The formation of hydroxyapatite was confirmed through various characterization methods, including FTIR, XRD, and SEM, which showed the presence of OH- and PO43- functional groups and the formation of HA crystals with agglomeration that decreased with increasing temperature. The optimal temperature of 150°C was supported by the characterization results. Recommendations include using the study as a reference for hydroxyapatite synthesis using the hydrothermal method, storing hydroxyapatite in a desiccator to prevent reaction with the environment, and minimizing sample contact with air during storage and characterization.
