YouGov conducted an international climate change survey across 11 countries (USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Spain, Italy) from June 11 to July 22, 2019. The survey found that a majority of respondents believe climate change is real and human activity is mainly responsible (USA: 51%, Great Britain: 49%, Germany: 48%, France: 40%, Denmark: 36%, Sweden: 49%, Finland: 35%, Norway: 69%, Spain: 66%, Italy: 38%).

Most respondents think their country could be doing more to tackle climate change (USA: 68%, Great Britain: 62%, Germany: 68%, France: 55%, Denmark: 42%, Sweden: 45%, Finland: 41%, Norway: 86%, Spain: 86%, Italy: 55%).

In terms of responsibility for climate change, respondents mostly blame national governments of wealthy countries (USA: 73%, Great Britain: 75%, Germany: 79%, France: 82%, Denmark: 79%, Sweden: 81%, Finland: 80%, Norway: 85%, Spain: 88%, Italy: 58%) and businesses/industry (USA: 74%, Great Britain: 77%, Germany: 83%, France: 81%, Denmark: 79%, Sweden: 86%, Finland: 79%, Norway: 88%, Spain: 89%, Italy: 64%).

Respondents also believe that national governments of wealthy countries have the most power to combat climate change (USA: 82%, Great Britain: 75%, Germany: 77%, France: 79%, Denmark: 75%, Sweden: 81%, Finland: 77%, Norway: 89%, Spain: 90%, Italy: 65%), followed by international bodies (USA: 63%, Great Britain: 56%, Germany: 63%, France: 62%, Denmark: 52%, Sweden: 67%, Finland: 65%, Norway: 75%, Spain: 82%, Italy: 54%).
