Summary

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) is funding Shared Resources Laboratories (SRLs) for Stem Cell-Based Modeling to accelerate regenerative medicine research. The goal is to create a network of SRLs that will broaden access to stem cell-based models, advance standards and reproducibility, increase access to educational opportunities, and develop sustainable stem cell core infrastructure. CIRM will fund two types of SRLs: Establishing (E)-SRLs to provide local access to stem cell-based models and training in areas where access is limited, and Enhancing/Expanding (E/E)-SRLs to enable leading experts to share their models and expertise. This RFA (INFR6.1) targets non-profit research institutions in California that do not currently conduct stem cell-based modeling research and can demonstrate that establishing this expertise would enable researchers to pursue impactful scientific questions and support educational programs for diverse student populations.
