The island's food consumption is 77,910 tons per year, with 19% being local products and 81% imported. The main imported products are fruit (15,814 tons), horticulture (10,206 tons), and meat (7,019 tons).

The food supply chain involves 15,112 tons of local products and 62,798 tons of imported products, with 66% distributed through retailers and 81% through wholesalers-importers. The transportation of imported products generates 6,316 tons of CO2, while local products generate 416 tons of CO2.

The island's food waste is estimated at 11,785 tons, representing 15.3% of total consumption, with 32% occurring during production, 21% during distribution, 41% during consumption in households, and 5% during consumption in the HORECA sector.
