Summary

Researchers propose a test for the theory that space-time has lower dimensionality at higher energies, using primordial gravitational wave astronomy. The theory suggests that at higher energies, space-time transitions from 3D to 2D, and eventually to 1D, which would result in a cutoff frequency for primordial gravitational waves. This cutoff frequency may be detectable by future gravitational wave detectors such as LISA. The theory also provides a solution to the fine-tuning problem and the cosmological constant problem, and may explain the observed planar alignment of cosmic ray events with energies higher than TeV.
