Development of the northern Arctic regions is not uniform, with these areas having a leading position due to significant natural resource potential and production of oil and natural gas. The Russian Far East, including the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and 5 districts of Sakha (Yakutia), has a rich natural resource base, with the main industries being diamond mining, fishing, and hunting. However, the region faces challenges such as harsh climate, permafrost, and depopulation. The state's desire for accelerated economic development and integration into the Asia-Pacific region's economic structure has led to increased investment interest. To balance social, environmental, and economic interests, an evaluation of production and natural relations is necessary. The study found that the region's ecological status is relatively good, with the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug being the most environmentally clean region in Russia. However, some areas require partial restriction of certain enterprises' activities due to negative environmental impacts, and water use in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic requires special attention.
