Summary

HV Diagnostics Inc. located a difficult cable fault in a DC cable at a Solar Farm in North Carolina using the Digi-Bridge instrument. The fault had been present for almost a year, resulting in significant revenue loss, and local crews had been unable to locate it in the previous 3 weeks. The Digi-Bridge first identified the faulted cable conductor and then pre-located the fault to be 10.7% from the Inverter station. The exact position of the fault was then located using the Digi-bridge's fault pin-pointing mode, and the faulted section was found to be damaged by a stone. The section was replaced, and the fault was repaired in a few hours.
