Summary

The PCA8885 is a capacitive 8-channel touch and proximity sensor with auto-calibration, featuring a patented EDISEN method, continuous auto-calibration, and support for matrix arrangement of sensors. It has adjustable response time and sensitivity, and can operate with up to 6 mm of acrylic glass. The sensor has an I2C Fast-mode Plus compatible interface, interrupt output, and a large voltage operating range. It is AEC-Q100 compliant for automotive applications and has a low-power battery operation mode. The PCA8885 is suitable for various applications, including replacing mechanical switches, hermetically sealed keys, and switches for medical and explosive environments.
