Complaints can be made about delays, failure to provide a service, standard of service, dissatisfaction with policy, treatment by staff, or failure to follow procedure. The complaints procedure has two stages: frontline resolution, aiming to resolve complaints quickly, and investigation, for complex complaints or those not resolved at stage one. If still dissatisfied, complaints can be taken to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman.
