Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that helps companies be socially accountable to themselves, stakeholders, and the public. CSR is broken into four categories: environmental impacts, ethical responsibility, philanthropic endeavors, and financial responsibilities. This research article analyzes the impact of CSR on business and its sustainability, aiming to be useful for CSR practitioners and those interested in the topic. The concept of CSR has been around for two centuries, with its roots tracing back to ancient Roman laws and evolving over time, influenced by philanthropy and social development. CSR significantly affects a firm's financial performance by developing a positive image among stakeholders and decreasing overall costs.
