Summary

Effective May 19, businesses can choose to follow CDC guidance or require masks and 6 feet of social distancing for all individuals.
Businesses following CDC guidance can allow fully vaccinated individuals to not wear masks or be socially distanced, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and be socially distanced.
Proof of full vaccination status can be required through paper form, digital application, or the State's Excelsior Pass, or businesses can rely on self-reporting (honor system).
Businesses not following CDC guidance must require all individuals to wear masks and maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
Capacity is limited by space available for patrons to maintain required distance.

Guidance for Businesses

Businesses that do not congregate patrons and operate below the social gathering limit (250 indoors, 500 outdoors):
+ Unvaccinated individuals and those with unknown vaccination status must be spaced 6 feet apart and wear masks indoors.
+ Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to be socially distanced or wear masks.
Businesses that congregate patrons and operate above the social gathering limit:
+ Must require proof of vaccination status for fully vaccinated sections.
+ Can operate up to 100% capacity if all attendees are fully vaccinated.
+ Unvaccinated individuals must present proof of recent negative COVID-19 test result for indoor events.

Implementation Options

Assign part of space for vaccinated individuals based on percentage of total capacity or absolute number.
Assign different times to vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
Businesses can operate up to 100% capacity if all attendees are fully vaccinated.
