The US cancer-related death rate decreased 26% between 1991-2015. In 2018, 1.7 million individuals and 10,600 children under 14 were diagnosed with cancer in the US, with 1,670 cancer deaths daily. Globally, 18.1 million individuals were diagnosed and 9.6 million died from cancer in 2018. The total cost of cancer care in the US was $147.3 billion in 2017, expected to increase to $174 billion by 2020.
