Summary

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, diagnosed through laboratory tests such as microscopic tests, GeneXpert MTB/RIF molecular rapid test, and culture. This study compares the validity of GeneXpert and microscopic tests with culture in detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis, finding that GeneXpert has a higher sensitivity range of 73.33-100% compared to microscopic tests with a range of 46.5-89.5%. However, GeneXpert should be used in combination with other tests for accurate diagnosis.
