Robert Murjahn founds "Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke von Robert Murjahn" in Ober-Ramstadt, producing "Murjahn's Washable Paint" and "Murjahn's Powder Plaster".
- 1928: Dr. Robert Murjahn develops the first water-based emulsion binder for paints, naming it "CAPAROL" after its base components. He also invents the world's first dispersion paint.
- 1936: Dr. Robert Murjahn introduces acrylic dispersion for his CAPAROL binder, replacing natural oil. This marks the beginning of modern washable paint technology.
- 1984: The colorful elephant becomes the new Caparol logo.
- 1985: Caparol presents the first emission-free, solvent-free interior paint "Indeko-plus E.L.F." on an international scale.
- 1996: The most modern dispersion paint production facilities in Europe become operational in Ober-Ramstadt, with investments estimated at 40 million euros.
- 2004: Launch of the innovative Nespri-Tec System for loss-free (vapor) facade painting and introduction of Muresko-SilaCryl, establishing a new class of facade paints based on SilaCryl®.
- 2005: Launch of the Wellness paint range: Sensitiv, CapaSan, and ElectroShield, ecological paints with anti-allergenic properties, air purification, and electromagnetic radiation shielding.
- 2007: Presentation of the innovative "Carbon Edition" facade insulation range at the "Farbe - Ausbau & Fassade" exhibition in Cologne, characterized by exceptional durability and impact resistance due to carbon fiber reinforcement.
- 2010: Presentation of the innovative "FASSADE A1" color collection at the "Farbe - Ausbau & Fassade" exhibition in Munich, offering 500 specially selected colors for facades, ensuring optimal color stability in combination with premium Caparol facade paints.
- 2016: Launch of the sustainable CapaGeo product range, made from renewable resources.
