Summary

Peace Lutheran Church was founded in 1884 by Rev. H. Daib, with 13 charter members, and was originally known as "Der Deutschen Evangelische-Lutherischen Friedensgemeinde U.A.C.". The church held services in various public halls and private homes, with all services in German. In 1887, the congregation purchased property and built a church, which was dedicated in July of that year. Over the years, the church underwent several expansions and improvements, including the construction of a new brick church building in 1902, a two-story brick school building in 1929, and a gym with stage and additional classrooms in 1961. The church also introduced English services in 1919 and installed a new pipe organ in 1915. Throughout its history, Peace Lutheran Church has been served by several pastors, including Rev. H. Daib, Rev. Alfred Grimm, Rev. O. Neumann, and Rev. Luther V. Stephan.
