Summary

Batik merupakan salah satu seni budaya Indonesia yang sudah menyatu dengan masyarakat Indonesia sejak beberapa abad lalu. Batik menjadi salah satu jenis seni kriya yang paling dikenal sebagai tradisi Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis visual motif dan makna simbolis batik Majalengka, dengan fokus pada sejarah perkembangan batik di Desa Enggalwangi Kecamatan Palasah Kabupaten Majalengka, visualisasi ide gagasan motif batik Majalengka, dan makna simbolis dari motif-motif batik Majalengka. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi peneliti, masyarakat, dan pemerintah dalam melembangkan dan mengembangkan batik Majalengka sebagai warisan budaya tak benda bangsa Indonesia.
