Summary

The study explored the beneficial effects of combining serratiopeptidase (a proteolytic enzyme) with neomycin (an antibiotic) in broiler chickens against E. coli infection. 180 day-old chicks were divided into 6 groups, including a negative control, positive control, standard antibiotic treatment, and three groups with different combinations of serratiopeptidase and neomycin. The results showed that the group with the highest dose of serratiopeptidase and neomycin (SN-3) had significantly improved feed intake, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio, as well as reduced mortality and morbidity compared to the standard and control groups. The study concluded that the combination of serratiopeptidase and neomycin has a synergistic effect against E. coli infection and enhances production parameters in broiler chickens.
