The study evaluated the effectiveness of various forms of nitrogen fertilizers and water-soluble NPK-fertilizers on potato yield and quality. The experiment was conducted on soddy-podzolic sandy loamy soil in the Moscow region, Russia, using the potato variety Zhukovsky early. The fertilizers used included ammonium nitrate, urea UTEC, nitrogen-limestone, granulated nitroammophoska, and water-soluble NPK-fertilizers of the Aqualis line. The results showed that the use of modern forms of nitrogen fertilizers, such as UTEC carbamide and nitrogen-limestone fertilizer, as well as foliar top dressing with water-soluble NPK-fertilizers, increased potato yield by 13-36.9%, improved product quality, and maintained soil fertility. The maximum yield of 44.5 tons/ha was achieved with the preplant application of nitroammophoska with a ratio of 14-14-23 and ammonium nitrate, combined with four-fold spraying with water-soluble complex fertilizers during the season. The study highlights the importance of proper fertilizer application technology for potato cultivation, particularly in the Non-Chernozem zone where nitrogen is often the limiting factor.
