Summary

The Tycho-2 catalogue of 2.5 million stars is studied, and statistical and kinematical characteristics are obtained. Unusual blue stars are revealed, and their distribution shows a tendency to concentrate in the direction of the Galactic plane. The Oort-Linblad and Ogorodnikov-Milne models are applied to calculate parameters from several samples of Tycho-2 stars. The results show that the Tycho-2 catalogue contains more distant stars than the Hipparcos catalogue, and the kinematics of these stars is consistent with the Oort-Linblad model of flat Galactic rotation.
